11/27/2023 0 Comments Autumn in your heartInto the Woods: Feeling the chilly but romantic vibe that autumn brings □ Fall in Love: My red hair blends perfectly well with the surroundings! Legend of the Fall: Geo walks along a bed of fallen, dried leaves. Orientalia: When leaves burst into fiery colors… Fire in the Sky: Flame-like trees reach out to the sky. Everyone in our group took time to sit and watch the leaves turn, as they sway with the wind and flutter from the autumn trees. ![]() Everything here seems to burst with beauty, as if nature had been saving up all year for its grand finale. They say that fall is the loveliest time of the year to come and visit Nami Island. Love is in the Air: Capturing the natural beauty of Nami. Natural Wonder: Nami is all about trees, parks and nature. Since it is only an hour away from the suburbs of Seoul, it has become a popular destination for couples and families, for tourists and locals alike. Somewhere in the island lies the grave of General Nami (now you know it), who led a great victory against the rebels during the rule of King Sejo in Joseon Dynasty. Located at Chuncheon, Namiseom is a tiny, half-moon shaped island that was formed as a result of rising water during the construction of Cheongpyeong Dam in 1944. Up in the Sky: A love triangle in the making □ Endless Love: Life-sized statues depicting the romance between Jun-sang and Yu-jin. Relive the Moments: “Winter Sonata” gets immortalized through these posters. But since I wasn’t able to complete watching it and I am fantasizing about romantic fall, this blog entry has been aptly named in reference to another K-drama classic that I saw, “Autumn in my Heart”, which is also part of the “Endless Love” series. It was the location where most of the heartwarming scenes (specifically the snowfalling) of the said internationally-known drama series were shot, hence the nickname. ![]() I’d like to zero in on our experience at Nami Island (or Namiseom) , also known as “Winter Sonata” Island. Red Inferno: The fervent shades of a lovely autumn.įor all of you to know, I am a self-confessed fanatic of K-dramas, and this trip is a realization of everything I love about Korea. It was surreal for a first-timer, and I fell instantly, hopelessly in love! Columnar Beauty: Rows of tall, sturdy trees ignite in brilliant red against the clear, blue sky. Everything was brown, yellow, red or orange – intense, fiery colors that provided contrast against the frigid surroundings. It was autumn season, and the wind was biting as it blew gently along the fallen dried leaves. Having said so, I am in a state where I am dreaming again of the cold, crisp weather and the wonderful moments we had back in November 2014 when we traveled to South Korea. I miss wearing lightweight sweaters (or sweatshirts) and bits of layering, as well as hiding underneath the blankets during the cold, chilly mornings and nights (that require no aircon or electric fans) that are supposed to be happening now… All these because of the onslaught of the sh*t*y El Nino! ![]() It is only January, but it feels like summer already – and I can’t help but complain.
